research, development and application of the art and science
of aerodynamic decelerator technology.

For four decades of outstanding contributions to the developmental and
qualification testing of parachute deceleration and landing systems.
*Through 1986, this was the Aerodynamic Decelerator and Balloon Technology Award.
*Through 1995, this was the Aerodynamic Decelerator Systems Award.
